Tim Kirkby has directed TV programmes with some of the UK’s biggest comedy names including Kathy Burke, Peter Serafinowicz, Stewart Lee, Greg Davies, Harry Enfield, Simon Pegg, Miranda Hart, Rebecca Front, Nick Frost and David Mitchell.
Director credits include two series of the critically acclaimed LOOK AROUND YOU, winner of The Rose D’Or, nominated for Best New TV Comedy at THE BRITISH COMEDY AWARDS and a BAFTA nomination for best comedy in the same year.
2010 brings another BAFTA nomination, this time for STEWART LEE’S COMEDY VEHICLE for BBC 2, with production on the 2nd series starting at the end of the year.
During his making of documentaries in the award winning CLASSIC ALBUMS series, he has filmed and interviewed some of the biggest names in rock music, including Lemmy, Slash, Lars Ulrich and Bruce Dickinson.
In the world of commercials, Tim’s directing work includes the Ant and Dec ads for Nintendo Wii, Grolsch, Burger King, Playstation, O2, Christian Aid, Remington, 118 118 amongst others, and directed and wrote with Greg Davies, the biggest and most watched campaign of 2005, The Ashes trails for Channel 4.
Agencies he has worked with include Fallon, TBWA, JWT, AMV, Mother and Euro RSCG London. He picked up a GOLDEN LION in Cannes 2007 with “Warnie” another cricket-based campaign for the Australian Ashes.
Newly completed THE KLANG SHOW for BBC3, COUNT ARTHUR STRONG’S TV pilot for BBC2 with Jeremy Dyson producing and Graham Linehan as executive producer.
Summer 2011 – Currently working on a new comedy drama for SKY 1 and has a feature film in development.
