Tim Kirkby has directed TV programmes with some of the UK’s biggest comedy names including Kathy Burke, Ian Hart, Peter Serafinowicz, Stewart Lee, Greg Davies, Harry Enfield, Simon Pegg, Miranda Hart, Rebecca Front, Nick Frost and Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

Director credits include two series of the critically acclaimed LOOK AROUND YOU, winner of The Rose D’Or, nominated for Best New TV Comedy at THE BRITISH COMEDY AWARDS and a BAFTA nomination for best comedy in the same year.

2012 brought a BAFTA WIN, for STEWART LEE’S COMEDY VEHICLE for BBC 2 and 2 BRITISH COMEDY AWARDS for the acclaimed 2nd series.

During his making of documentaries in the award winning CLASSIC ALBUMS series, he has filmed and interviewed some of the biggest names in rock music, including Lemmy, Slash, Lars Ulrich and Bruce Dickinson.

In the world of commercials, Tim’s directing work includes the Ant and Dec ads for Nintendo Wii, Grolsch, Burger King, Playstation, O2, Christian Aid, Remington, 118 118 amongst others, and directed and wrote with Greg Davies, the biggest and most watched campaign of 2005,  The Ashes trails for Channel 4. Agencies he has worked with include Fallon, TBWA, JWT, AMV, Mother and Euro RSCG London. He picked up a GOLDEN LION in Cannes 2007 with “Warnie” another cricket-based campaign for the Australian Ashes.

2012 brought Walking and Talking, written and starring Kathy Burke, and the BBC2 pilot ‘Its Kevin’ starring comedy legend Kevin Eldon.

In 2013, Tim was lead director in the critically acclaim E4/Channel 4 comedy drama MY MAD FAT DIARY starring Ian Hart, Sharon Rooney & Claire Rushbrook.

He is currently working on the HBO comedy series VEEP, where he directs episode 9 and the season finale episode 10.
